In the run-up to the top prizes for the Shore Talent Quest, the judges have selected the finalists from the initial 70 would-be stars who entered.

Heats were held at Devonport’s historic Victoria Picture Palace and Theatre on Sunday November 6 and the Gala Finals are on November 12 at 6.30pm at The Vic.  Supporters overflowed from the lobby into the street as the future stars auditioned on stage.  It was a great scene on Sunday.  There were solo singers, bands, dancers and jugglers.

Talent quest organiser, Devonport Rotary Club president, Libby Boyd said all the acts were highly entertaining and the variety and standard of performances was ‘amazing’.

‘Our judges seemed to enjoy themselves, but had to work hard to select those who deserved to reach the final,’ she said ‘It’ll be a fantastic evening’s entertainment at the finals, with such great talent on display’.

Tickets for the Gala Final on Saturday 12th Nov are $25, and can be purchased at the Vic Box Office, or at www.bookmyshow.co.nz.  All proceeds will be donated to the Victoria Theatre restoration fund.
