As sharks they’re used to getting bad press but yesterday the tables were turned when Clark and Bruce were the target of a shark attack by a hungry, knee-high nipper.

They survived and quickly forgot what could have been a traumatic experience and were welcomed by the otherwise friendly folk of Devonport. The message? Greepeace were targeting Sealord, NZ’s largest tuna brand, because they allege it buys its tuna from companies which use indiscriminate fishing methods.

On a warm and sunny afternoon which would have been perfect for basking in the shallows, the Greenpeace dudes spent three hours chatting to people in the main street and on top of Mt Victoria.

Seems the message that Sealord needs to change to sustainably caught tuna is starting to spread.

More information on the campaign is available here.
