“Devonpour” Drops 11mm on Devonport

In a one hour burst of heavy rain last night, Devonport copped 11mm, according to The Speculator’s rain gauge.

The rain, which was a classic, extremely localised “Devonpour”, could be heard thundering down on nearby roofs, while leaving The Speculator’s humble abode  untouched for some periods.

While welcome relief for gardens, it may just be a warm-up for the easterly storm approaching New Zealand that will hit the North Island next Tuesday.
