Inorganic Collection Dates Moved

Posted by on May 10, 2011 | 1 Comment

Specific details of collection
The collections will be done in 2 stages. Stage 1 prior to RWC (June to August). Stage 2 post RWC
(October to December).
Collections will start in mid-June rather that July (which is 2 weeks earlier than usual).
Devonport will be the first area collected and then the collections will move North, area by area, up the east
coast bays. The motorway is the main division between East and West North Shore.  This differs from last
year’s collection (2010) which started in Beach Haven and finished in Devonport.
Stage 1 collections will finish in late August in Albany. This will allow sufficient time for streets to be cleared
prior to the start of the RWC tournament on 7 September.
Collections will be on hold for the 7 week duration of the RWC.
Collections will resume after Labour Weekend (late October) immediately after the conclusion of RWC, and
finish in mid-December 2011.
Stage 2 collections will resume in Beach Haven in late October.

In a remarkable instance of foresight, the Council has amended the inorganic rubbish collection in Devonport to ensure it misses the RWC!
