ANZAC Day in Devonport

Posted by on Apr 25, 2011 | 1 Comment

The 96th ANZAC Day service and ceremony in Devonport was well attended, despite the inclement weather.

Quin Rodda once again efficiently marshalled the troops, the band and the crowd whilst simultaneously treating those gathered to the mellifluous tones of his tenor during the hymns.

The other stand-out from the ceremony was young Barnaby Watts of Stanley Bay School, who delivered his reading with considerable aplomb and poise for one so young.

These two, together with the bugler who delivered The Last Post, contributed to making the ceremony a particularly moving experience.

It was a great service, but got bit drenched like a rat, but we all soon warmed up and dried off in the stone oven afterwards..I still think they make the best coffee in Devo! 🙂
