What flavour is an albatross? Ask Monty Python.

Some interesting works coming up for exhibition at The Depot. Check out the dates and details below.

  • 16 October – 28 October. Lucid – Born to Bead; New Zealand Glass Bead Artists Community
  • 23 October – 28 October. The Form of Mental State; Mariya Nakova & Mark Tronson.
  • 23 October – 10 November. Hand on Heart Small Art; Maxine Jepson & Susan Carmont.
  • 30 October – 11 November. Albatross; Jacqui Brown. The opening will be held 3-4:30 on the 30th October;
  • 30 October – 11 November. C.o.M.O; Ann McWilliams, Peter Bramwell, Shereena Moy, Eric Pritchard, Cathy Wiig, Brenda Cashmore, Janet Martell, Marilyn Brons, Lora Young, Nan Houghton, Terri Palmer, Lyn Pawson
  • 13 November – 25 November. Beach Life Kiwi Style; Jo Lawrence-King. The opening will be held 3-4:30 on the 13th November

6 October – 28 October. Lucid – Born to Bead; New Zealand Glass Bead Artists Community: The unique alchemy of transparency is presented in an intriguing way in this exhibition which explores the colours, reflection and depth of the amorphous medium of glass. A selection of contemporary wearable glass jewellery and beaded objects designed & created by members of the New Zealand Glass Bead Artists Community. This community, made up of both well established and emerging artists, explores the fascinating nature of glass through works exhibited for the first time in New Zealand.
23 October – 28 October. The Form of Mental State; Mariya Nakova & Mark Tronson; The Form of Mental State is a joint exhibition showing long exposure photography and airbrush paintings. Both artists aim to reflect inner emotions, feelings and the unique state of mind where time or rules do not apply.

Mariya Nakova’s photography explores spiritual balance, the human body and the surreal moments we experience. Mark Tronson’s airbrush paintings focus on dreams, emotions and mythical creatures. Together they bring us an exciting and thought provoking experience.
23 October – 10 November. Hand on Heart Small Art; Maxine Jepson & Susan Carmont. The creative talents of two ex-display artists collide in Outerspace.  Maxine Parkin-Jones  and  Susan Carmont  have created a  collection of stunning handmade objects to collect, wear or give.
30 October – 11 November. What Flavour Is An Albatross; Jacqui Brown. The opening will be held 3-4:30 on the 30th October; A flight of fantasy by Jacqui Brown. Two paths merge on an exploratory flight around the world of historic and ceramic proportions.

30 October – 11 November. C.o.M.O.; Ann McWilliams, Peter Bramwell, Shereena Moy, Eric Pritchard, Cathy Wiig, Brenda Cashmore, Janet Martell, Marilyn Brons, Lora Young, Nan Houghton, Terri Palmer, Lyn Pawson; An eclectic mix of works by a group of art practitioners who have been collaborating for several years. Their works encompass a variety of media including acrylic, oil and mixed media and range from abstract to figurative. Pushing boundaries by experimentation with style, materials and subject matter is their main area of interest. These works are an illustration of that journey.
