The Speculator “Not Up To Scratch” – Daughter

Posted by on Dec 02, 2010 | 4 Comments

The Speculator was a bit miffed today, after his 8 year old daughter the Speculassy criticised the “look and feel” of the home page of The Devonport Speculator.

Stating it was “lacking in gravitas” and riven with “brand shock”, The Speculassy promptly presented her own design for how she believed the site could attract an audience that was “representative across all of the key monetised demographics.”

The Speculator, stung by the criticism, sent The Speculassy to bed without any dinner and while she was sleeping, admits to rifling through her school work to recover the design, with which she had stomped off after being sent to bed.

The Speculator managed to located the design, and would love readers’ feedback on its relative merits.

The New Speculator

This online version of Devo is refreshing but somewhat bit conservative as far as what is allowed to be posted, ever heard of ‘flexibility’?? when ALOT of us locals wanna tell it like it really is, when warranted that is, it gets reported in the Flagstaff, but having said that, this online version does beat the Flagstaff in some areas but fails in others. 🙂

  2. Ruth says:

The Speculator is refreshing – in all ways. Keep it up!

  3. Liz says:

Whatever the design, I think the Speculator is excellent and we are lucky to be able to get up to the minute local news and opinions online, plus the extremely useful Lake Road webcam! (I love the Flagstaff too but it’s only fortnightly.) Keep up the good work.

Im with the young talent on this one, give her and her mates at school a regular page to give their view on current affairs.
